Demo of the Snapshot feed

Snackable Insights

Snapshot started as an internal skunkworks project with a flashy trailer concept showcasing the potential of a personalized financial insight feed. In the beginning it was highly design focused and led.

Snapshot’s creation was unique in not having originated from a line of business or operating with the explicit goal of generating revenue. After well received pitches and demos, it saw funding and the greenlight for a proof-of-concept standalone application. The basic structure was that of a scrollable feed with each tile featuring a colorful personalized insight.

After a year of internal testing and refinement, it was incorporated into the retail Chase app with placement at the top of the mobile app home screen.

The primary goal of the Snapshot feed is to drive engagement and proactively showcase helpful data about a customer’s finances. Information is displayed in a consumable and approachable format that would ideally appeal to a younger demographic and are likely earlier in their financial journey.

Quick iterations on potential insights and their designs drove rapid production of the Snapshot tiles. It required constant review and explorations as well as partnering with product and tech teams to ensure feasibility and implementation.

Today, Snapshot serves millions of daily visitors and enables customers to learn about other financial services which result in hundreds of thousands of new account openings. More importantly though, Snapshot seeks to provide everyone with a better understanding and additional confidence in their financial health.
